6.12 Tradition

Noah couldn't sleep. Tomorrow, he would ride the bus with his big brothers to school. His grandmother would make him pancakes, just as she had Gage and Ethan. Then his mother would kiss him on the head as he left for the bus. It was tradition.

Noah turned over one more time and shut his eyes, maybe he could sleep if he tried hard enough. In the distance, he heard the click of the T.V. He quietly slid out of bed and to the door, careful not to wake Ethan in the next bed. Noah found his father, lounging on the couch. It was common to find someone on the couch. His family loved T.V., so someone was always there.
Before Noah could greet his father he heard a sharp scream from his grandmother's bathroom. Noah and his father raced towards his grandmothers screams. Noah entered to find her, looking at her ghostly appearance.

His father followed him in the bathroom and burst into tears. It was the first time he'd ever seen his father cry. Noah tried to console him, but there was no consoling. His mother soon entered, after being awaken by the commotion. Noah took this opportunity to escape. He wasn't sure what he should do. He quickly slid back into bed as quietly as he escaped it. He was haunted by the sight of his grandmother and his father's sobs.

But most importantly, how could he go to school without his pancakes?

((Let me just say that I JUST built her an addition to the back of the house.. a suite.. so I could have no more than two kids per room. Then she dies before even getting to use it... RAWR!))
